9am Meet at school, intros, discuss plan for day, pass out breakfast, snow gear
10am leave school, head to Gold Creek
11am arrive at Gold Creek trailhead
11:30 begin snow shoe
12:30 lunch at Gold Creek Pond
1:30 head back to vans
2:30 return in vans to Cleveland
3:30 arrive back at Cleveland

Report:

The trip went well overall and followed the planned scheduled pretty closely. Small group of students, but they had fun - most had not been snowshoeing before so it was a new experience. The teacher brought an avalanche probe, shovel, and beacon, so the kids played with that some. We also went sledding on the slope that is to the west of the pond.

Suggestions:

Was able to rent the van through Enterprise's website using our Seattle ICO account. I rented it for pick up at 8am on Saturday and drop off at 9am on Sunday. Pick up was quick enough that you could push that later in the morning.
