- Plan:
- The March trip is a redo of the planned December trip (during which, the students saw very little snow). We will drive to Snoqualmie Pass, snowshoe out, eat lunch, and sled before returning to school. We hope to give students the opportunity to enjoy the snow and the wilderness.
- Report:
- We stuck pretty closely to our estimated time schedule, arriving at Gold Creek before 11 a.m. The kids were eager to sled, so they did a little bit of sledding before we outfitted them with their snowshoes. We carried the sleds along with us, and the kids picked up snowshoeing quickly. We snowshoed out on the trail, stopped to have lunch and sled some more, and then came back right on time. There were some lively snowball fights as well.
- Suggestions:
- While there weren't enough kid-sized snowshoes for everyone, the students were fine in the adult-sized ones. We had all fourth-graders and one fifth-grader.
